Lamborghini Aventador SV Unveiled In Geneva
If you thought the North American International Auto Show was all about the latest in performance vehicles, then you’re going to love this year’s Geneva Motor Show. Front and center is the new Lamborghini Aventador SV, with its racecar-like styling, lighter weight and a retuned V-12 pumping out even more power. The Aventador SV takes Lamborghini"s already-amazing flagship to a higher level of performance.
On the power side of things, the Lamborghini Aventador SV gets a 6.5-liter V-12 that pumps out 740 horsepower – an increase of 40 horsepower over the “standard” Aventador – and the same 509 pound-feet of torque. But the bigger news here is that curb weight has been reduced by 110 pounds, meaning that the Aventador SV tips the scales at 3,362 pounds. These specs will have the Aventador SV sprinting from 0-62 mph in just 2.8 seconds on the way to a top speed of 217 mph.
Lamborghini was able to shed weight from the Aventador with the additional use of the carbon fiber, now used for the fenders, rocker panels, sport bucket seats and door panels. The SV also has 170 percent more downforce than the current Aventador models, thanks to new styling elements and that massive rear wing.
